MACINTOSH MONDAY

So last Thursday 18th June Mr Macintosh turned 3! As is customary we get him a few little presents, usually consisting of some toys and treats. We posted this picture on Instagram which caused people to comment on how still and well behaved he looked waiting for his presents.

Whilst he is waiting patiently there he didn't always wait so well...

        

He spent quite a bit of time sniffing them and getting excited over the very gross animal smells he could detect from inside! I love the tongue out photo, shame its a bit blurry!

Mac is a master at opening presents. He can shred wrapping paper at quite a speed so he had fun opening all his presents. You see him demonstrating it by opening his frisbee, which he spends a lot of time wanting to crunch through! 

His favourite toy though is clearly his pheasant. He loves the noise it makes and the fact its small enough for him to toss around and play with. Its the toy he keeps going back to again and again.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Valentine's Day this year seemed to slip past almost unnoticed for us. I had grand plans for adding to our winter decor but it never really materialised as I'd wished. I did spend some time learning how to crochet hearts and I strung together some heart bunting, but it only went across the sideboard and it didn't go much beyond that!

The above picture shows you some of the bunting and also the little paper hearts that were cut out rather hastily to add to the decor. Our cards this year were colour matching which makes me rather happy. I know red is the traditional colour and therefore it shouldn't be that surprising but red doesn't always feature in the Woodruff cards. We are rather unconventional. 

We didn't really celebrate the day too much other than the giving of some gifts and a nice home cooked meal at the end of the day, which we took zero photos of (probably because we were too engrossed in watching The Bodyguard!)

Andrew's main present involved an amazing books called 'Maddie on Things'. This guy and his dog, Maddie, took some truly amazing photos, posed in different places and created a photobook all about it. It's incredible how patient this dog is and how they manage to take such incredible shots. Not sure Macintosh would be up for that.

My present from Andrew was this amazing clutch bag that I absolutely loved when I saw it in the mall a while back. It was a lovely surprise to have him buy it for me and I am literally desperate for an occasion to use it now. 

So there we go, our mini not too exciting Valentine's Day. We hope yours was just as lovely and check back soon for a post on how we made the most of President's Day.

MACINTOSH MONDAY

Macintosh has been having a wonderful Christmas so far. There's been lots of present for him to open, walks to go on, wrapping paper to shred, naps to be enjoyed and a few seasonal food tidbits have gone his way, including turkey and ham! Here's a few pictures of what he's been up to.

He definitely tugs at your heart strings that one. Handsome boy!

MACINTOSH MONDAY

This past week has been fairly busy. It held lots of final preparations for Christmas, work parties and other Christmassy events. Macintosh has not appreciated the lack of care and attention and has been a bit of a pickle. However Andrew is now finished for Christmas (hooray!) and we can focus all our attention on this unruly pup!

There have been lots of parcels arriving this week so Mac has been fairly busy sniffing every inch of them to ensure they are totally safe. Andrew came home on Tuesday with a large amount of parcels, which clearly contain nice things as Mac went crazy over them! There are no photos of that event though as I too went crazy over the parcels! Haha!

                                               

We can't leave the presents under the tree until the last moment otherwise our delightful beagle will do what beagles do best and destroy them all. So I've been keeping them hidden in our spare room, except that Mr Clever-clogs has already worked this out. Any time I go near the room he's immediately by my side just in case he can worm his way in and have another sniff around. It probably doesn't help that Christmas food is being stored in there too! That certainly does attract a beagle!

To finish off this short post I'll just add a couple of hilarious photos taken this week. In order to get one of them we had to bribe him ALOT with food. Can you guess which one?

MR MACINTOSH TURNS 2!

Today, June 18th 2014, is Macintosh's 2nd birthday. He has officially moved from puppyhood into adulthood, or so the theory goes! Admittedly he is only just a dog but in fact last year when he turned that all important 1 we were out of the country sunning ourselves on a beach in Majorca with the Keble clan. So we decided to make more of a deal out of it this year. Now before you all freak out we didn't decorate the house or buy him a birthday card or anything weird. We just forced him to wear a birthday hat...

And then gave him lots of presents which he really didn't know what to do with. Usually he shreds paper to get through it but this year (perhaps a sign of his maturity) he let us do all the work for him! 

He has enjoyed the morning so far by playing with his toys and sniffing away in the backgarden at all the American smells out there. There'll be a nice long walk in the hot sunny desert and then he's got a real treat at lunchtime as he's off to make some new friends. This evening he'll have a special wet food dinner to celebrate. All in all a great day for a dog. Or in reality, no different to pretty much any other because he has no idea what's going on. This is us purely for us. See!

Andrew wanted to clarify. This is in fact the best day ever for Macintosh because pretty much every day is the best day if it involves eating, walking and playing. "This is the best day ever!" 

LETTERS AND PRESENTS

This last week has truly been a week of letters and presents; its been great recieveing news from friends and family. It was also super exciting recieving a box of presents from Hannah, which also had a load of letters from the Rock Solid Youth Group and the leaders. Wow! I better get writing back I think!!

Had a great Valentines Day too with opening presents and a long chat to Hannah on Facetime. I especially like the book she got me about Sir Alan Cobham's  flyingboat adventures toAfrica  and the funky dog desk tidy. It's a good substitute dog as I am missing Mac lots too.
