So today's post happened just this morning and caused me to almost have a heart attack! To set the scene I was in the bathroom having a shower. Sorry I know that's not the best setting for a post but there it is. The door was closed, or to my mind it was, and I was busy washing my hair.
As I was busy getting ready I had this weird feeling of being watched. Now I'm known for being a bit dramatic and can't really watch scary movies as I frighten way too easily. I decided to ignore the feeling as I decided it was totally irrational. I was in a locked house and behind a closed door. If anyone had come in I would have heard it. The feeling however did not go away so with great trepidation I turned round to check.
Well I almost died! There was Macintosh standing right next to the shower LICKING THE SHOWER DOOR! I mean come on! It literally scared me into screaming which in turn gave him a small shock and caused him to try and run away. Now anyone who has ever seen a dog try to run on tiles will know that sometimes they don't go anywhere at first and merely end up running on the spot. That's what happened here. The poor dog was petrified and couldn't get away fast enough.
Lesson of the day: ensure the bathroom door is fully shut before taking a shower. As if its not then a small and determined beagle, with far too much of an inquisitive spirit, may just be able to nudge it open and come investigating!
Obviously there is no photographic evidence of this event so you'll have to put up with his unimpressed after face. He wasn't a happy bunny.

SHOWERS ARE THE GREATEST
Our bathroom redo is finally done!! Break out the banners and cheering! It was finished on Monday however Macintosh's silly stunt of ripping off a claw meant that I haven't actually got around to photographing the wonderful new bathroom. However now that his paw is on the mend and he's beginning to accept that the cone of shame is here to stay for a little while, I finally managed to snap some pictures.
So here's the new bathroom! Its fairly standard to many people but to us its simply amazing! The fact its all new and clean, that we have a heated towel rail, a beautifully big mirror, a light near the mirror amongst other things just makes the place so much better.
Oh hello nice big mirror. For the more observant amongst you, yes I have had a haircut and yes I am wearing Andrew's oversized and very comfy jumper. It's become a staple piece of clothing. It no longer smells of him though but smells rather girly. Oops!
So there we go. Our bathroom redo that I can enjoy for the last few months before we leave. It was definitely worth the mess and I'm grateful we don't have to pay for any of it. Thank you RAF!

But that right there, ladies and gentleman, is the real reason this bathroom is so amazing!! After three and a half years we finally have a shower! :o) The first day I used it I never wanted to leave it. It was true bliss. To be able to use two hands to wash my hair instead of having to hold something over my head was just insanely good. I may be taking far longer to get ready in the mornings purely because I'm enjoying the shower so much!
Some decorative bits from Majorca. Things Andrew doesn't always appreciate but he's not here so its tough luck!

DEMO IN PROGRESS...
The RAF have very generously agreed to finally update our rather outdated bathroom and the renovations started this week. It will take about 10 working days to complete with a different trade coming each day to do their part of the redo. That means that the normal living arrangements of our house are somewhat disrupted.
For example, going up the stairs and across large parts of the landing we have what can only be described as shrink wrap to protect our stairs. Whilst its very considerate of the RAF to protect our carpets it unfortunately makes Macintosh want to dig through it!
So far the progress has included the removal of flooring, the old suite, ceiling and at long last that horrific woodchip wallpaper! *insert loud cheering and happiness here* They have redone the electrics, plumbed in the new suite and prepared for the arrival of the most amazing part of all......drum roll please.......a proper shower! Yes that's right for almost three and a half years Andrew and I have no had a proper shower in the house. Insanity!
However the most amusing part of the whole redo is the sign they taped to the door of the bathroom on the first day. Perhaps they would prefer us to smell for approximately 10 days!
Can't wait until our new sleek bathroom is installed. Bet you're all thrilled too! Well I will post an update when its finally done. Until then its a smelly Hannah signing off! ;)
